Curator's Note

August fog had settled over San Francisco Bay, softening the Golden Gate Bridge until it seemed suspended between water and sky. Diane remained at the shoreline, patiently watching the muted landscape for the slightest change.

Then, as several boats made their way toward the bridge, the cloud cover opened. Light gathered around their sails and scattered across the restless water, while birds swept through the edge of the frame. For one fleeting passage, everything aligned, movement, atmosphere, and illumination - before the Bay returned to gray.
